Mary Coss och June Sekiguchi frånSseattle, USA visar skulptur och
fotografi på Candyland.
Coss och Sekiguchi intresserar sig båda för varandets natur.
Deras arbete manifesteras på olika sätt när de genom
sina arbeten beskriver livsresor.
Från födsel till död och någonstans
däremellan undersöker de hur vi blev till dem vi är, hur
vi upplever livet och vad som följer efter att vår fysiska
existens tar slut.
I de båda världarna blottas historien.
Konstnärerna medverkar under vernissagen och håller ett
Artist Talk kl 19.00, där de berättar vad som inspirerar dem
och visar bilder från deras pågående gemensamma
arbete med “The Blood that Runs Through Us.

1. In the first part of the exchange Alvaro Campo has made a solo
exhibition of his latest work “Rationality Killed the Cat” at the
Shift Gallery in April of 2009, and also made an artist talk and
presentation of Candyland (the documentation can be found on
http://www.alvarocampo.com). The exhibition was well received,
the opening took place at the Tashiro/Kaplan building in downtown
Seattle in the context of the “artwalk” an opening of many
galleries simultaneously which takes place in Seattle on the
first Thursday of every month.
2. For the second part of the project in Sept 2009, Alvaro
Campo/Candyland has invited Pierre Goure and Garth Admunson to
show their latest work at Candyland (18/09/2009–04/10/2009) and to make
a public lecture of their choice including a presentation of SHIFT
collaborative Studios (Thursday 17/09/2009 - 18.00 Candyland )
3. For the third part Malou Bergman and Nadja Ekman/
Candyland were invited by Mary Coss and June Sekiguchi/Shift to
exhibit their work at Shift Gallery, 03/06/2010–30/06 2010.
For this occasion they made new images as a response to Pierre Goure
and Garth Admunsons exhibition “Cut-It-Out”. Bergman and Ekman
presented photographs and videos dealing with the female identity.
Bergman and Ekman did an artist talk at the galley (Saturday 5/06/2010)
4. For the fourth part June Sekiguchi and Mary Coss are invited by
Bergman and Ekman to exhibit their sculptures at Candyland with the
title: States of Being (03/09/2010–19/09/2010) and to make a public
lecture the 03/09/2010 - 19.00.
